ef - a tale of melodies - 1

ef - a tale of melodies focuses more on the relationships not covered in the first season. This, of course, includes the story of Yuuko and Himura, Kuze, and Mizuki. There's also someone new this time around, and it's Hirono Nagi, the sister of Hirono Hiro.

This MUST hurt.

I can go on for sometime discussing how it isn't possible to be nailed in the palms and still be somehow hanging. Theoretically, your palms wouldn't be a good idea to place nails in, since they would tear off because of your body weight. Unless you're standing on something.

The opening was pretty well done this time around as well. The characteristic walls of text placed as the background was really nice, too. It's not in English this time around, though. My favorite line was 'I wish I could see your insides'. I'm taking Biology. Makes sense?

Yeah, white hair isn't cool.

This was from the past (as you've probably guessed), when they were still in school. I'm looking forward to the unveiling of why she hated (or hates) him. There was also some stuff about Himura remembering 'something' and that she was his sister or something.

I always thought they were lovers separated by destiny during the first season. It apparently seems to be much deeper than that and I am fully prepared for some random shock that may result from knowing.

I thought it was Renji with breasts.

This person drawing a nude portrait of herself is Hirono Nagi. Now we know where Shindou Nagi got his name from. And his hand. Himura was in this scene as well, trying his hardest to avoid looking at her body. Himura, you dumbass. If the girl thinks of her body as art, then by all means you should, too! Trying to look away, don't deny yourself of this opportunity.

Hypnosis, 60% complete.

Mizuki is now staying at Renji's house for the meantime. Turns out, they're cousins, which seems so perfectly orchestrated that it could only happen in fiction. This is in Australia, by the way.

I wasn't really happy to see Renji again. Nothing's really changed with him, save the fact that he decided to be a novelist. I WANT CHIHIRO NAO. Maybe long-haired Chihiro would be kawaii~

Kuze likes them young.

I'm not comfortable with the idea of Mizuki and Kuze making a couple. Good thing that possibility seems remote at the moment. I envision a 'life-changing' story with little romance regarding these two. I mean, them? Romance? Intercourse? Oh, please, no.

My heart is breaking for you. Literally.

This part was quite sudden. Who knew Kuze would have such physical issues? Now he doesn't seem too perfect after all. Thinking about it, letting him die would have a great effect on the storyline. No, forget about letting him die. MAKE him die.

Interesting, right?

Overall, this episode is quite an interesting start for the series. The introduction of Hiro's sister, the dark (?) past of Himura and Yuuko, and the odd couple of Kuze and Mizuki. Throw in Chihiro, and it would be even better.

I just hope this interests me more though. I've had my fill of boring episodes already that I don't want more. I don't even have the energy to rant about this episode.

Taiga, the freeloader

Love is her weakness~

Can I have a cookie?

Censorship

Wah!

Evil Kitamaru

Since nobody understands us, lets take out our anger on a telephone pole

It actually tilted

Dragon & Tiger

"He said, 'Taiga'"

Since there was no opening song in episode one, it appeared in episode two. It is a pretty cute and catchy song. The opening was very colorful, cute, and nice. I guess I am at a loss of words. When Taiga was going to confess to Kitamaru, she sounds so much like Louise since they both are weak at love, but also stubborn and pouty. Well, there might already be hints of the beginning feelings between Taiga and Ryūji, but they both won't admit it, at least Taiga won't since she likes Kitamaru. Taiga is also starting to praise and to help Ryūji a little more than before; thus it appears that Taiga does have a hidden soft side, too. Because of things they did together, other people misunderstood them as a couple; it was actually pretty amusing to see Minorin's (Minori's nickname), Kitamaru's, and others' reaction (censored). But when Taiga and Ryūji are alone, they do have their quiet moments; there is also a brief part about Taiga's past. In the preview, it looks like episode three would mainly be dedicated to Minori, but maybe Taiga will try to confess again.

Code Geass Guren

So after a whole long week of school work piled up to the ceiling, I finally had the time to sit down to seriously start on Guren. And I have finished it, it looks pretty awesome. I wish Kallen was painted though.

Nunnally has such an awesome geass! Talking about crossover, they are only nice:

  1. If they are done well...not just cut and paste
  2. End results appear better than original at least in one or more categories such as cuteness, etc
  3. Last but not least, 1 and 2 are only my personal opinion; thus you may have different opinions.

Macademi Wasshoi - 1

Takuto looks like any other average boy from school in this anime, but he actually practices magic. After denying a invitation to a party, he heads off to the magic academy through a door which he cast a spell to summon. He goes through the door(which can talk), and goes into the academy. Well so far this kind of reminds me of Zero no Tsukaima, especially when Takuto summons a tsukaima. Parodies are seen throughout this episode. The droids remind me of Knightmares from Code Geass, Suzuho is like a blue-haired Shana, MAGIC LEVEL OVER 100,000!(Lol Dragonball Z scouter), and a droid has an armband reminding me of Haruhi. Well this anime has that new character pops in and becomes main characters lover theme so far as I see it.

The summoning of a tsukaima.

Too- too cute!

Oh crap, can't even sleep anymore.

Eneus is so cute ><

Oh man, she is so strong.

Of course, her magic power level is OVER 100,000!!!

Blue hair Shana with a electrical machine sword. Konata + Shana + Glasses = Suzuho?

No kissing pact in this show. =[

  • Quite the amount of references in the first episode I must say.
  • I thought Eneus was a cat but apparently she is a dog.
  • The door was pretty freaky.
  • Does Futaba and Hazuki look like twins? Hmm maybe fraternal twins?
  • Why did Suzuho have to hide in a mail box?
  • Does anyone get mad at all that their whole school just got demolished?
  • Anyone liked the clay figure parts?

Picture of the Day

This is the saddest scene ever beside Air. I almost cried myself *sniffles*. If you have seen Gurren Lagann, you would understand this scene without any explanation. For those who haven't seen it, I won't spoil anything, but I recommend you watch it yourself unless you are not into sad scenes.

Kuroshitsuji - 01

Sebastian

The three failures

Stone garden is a nice concept

"Entranced by the eyes of the dead"

"Lose your legs in the Forest of Confusion"

"Have your body burned within the crimson flames"

Donburi!

Example of a perfect butler in action

"Something once lost will never return"

Ciel's family (I wonder what happened to his parents)

First impression

The perfect butler theme reminds me of Hayate no Gotoku, but without the streak of misfortunes. The game that Ciel plays with his visitor actually comes true and haunts his visitor depending on what has happened in the game. For example, Mr Damian is scorched in the oven later in the story since he landed on the board square of a person burning on a stake. The board game reminds me of Jumanji. There was also a pun when Sebastian said "I'm but a butler", which also translates to "a demon and a butler". It looks like in the beginning, Ciel signed a contract with a crow, which I suppose is "demon" Sebastian. In all, I have yet to discover what the main plot of the story is beside a devoted butler and a young master.

Tales of the Abyss - 02

Looks like a toy car

That came out from almost nowhere

A world map perhaps?!

Fon Master Ion

Fon Master Guardian Anise is such a klutz who manages to lose Fon Master Ion

Luke keeps a diary in case he loses his memories again

Tear's reaction to cheagles (compared to...)

Luke's reaction to cheagles is amusing

A sorcerous ring, given by Yulia Jue, that grants the ability of speech to cheagles

Mieu can breath fire at a young age

Miu Miu Miu

Trapped...

Since Luke has no idea of the outside world and is a such spoiled brat, he took things for granted. And then like before, Tear is the one apologizing and paying up for his mess. Like episode one, Luke has a gentle side since he saved that cheagle, a sacred animal of the church. But I still think he is too arrogant and naive, considering he thinks he can do anything and get anything. It apparently felt that all the main characters are introduced relatively fast within two episodes, but since it is following the game story, it isn't much of a problem. And of course, Jade wearing glasses made him look like a typical villian, but preview tells of a different story.

History behind Tales of the Abyss
